 If you wish to bring a guest to the social events please complete and return the  Accompanying Person Registration Form.

 The fee includes a ticket to the Welcome Reception on Sunday 13th July. Tickets for the  other social events can also be booked, please make your selection as indicated on the  form.

 CONGRESS REGISTRATION
 

REGISTRATION FEE

The EPHAR 2008 Congress registration fee includes access to all scientific sessions, a ticket to the Welcome Reception on Sunday evening (there are a limited number of tickets which will be available on a first-come, first served basis), refreshments and lunch.

 

ACCOMMODATION

Please note, the registration fee does not include accommodation. A wide variety of accommodation will be available including bedrooms at the University Halls of Residence from £45.00 per night and a wide range of city centre hotels to suit all budgets. Accommodation can be booked on this website with the Marketing Manchester Accommodation Booking Service from 15 February 2008.

 

SOCIAL EVENTS

Welcome Reception
Sunday 13th July at University of Manchester from 18.00 - 20.00. Including welcome address and drinks reception.

Congress Dinner
Wednesday 16th July at Manchester United Football Stadium from 18.30 - 23.30. Including drinks reception, tour of the stadium and meal.

Young Pharmacologists Wine Tasting Quiz
Monday 14th July at Pure Nightclub from 20.30 - late. Including wine tasting quiz, buffet and disco afterwards.

The British Pharmacological Society are hosting and underwriting EPHAR 2008. Event registration, payment and confirmation are therefore being transacted via the BPS website.

REGISTRATION FEE

The Serotonin Club Satellite Meeting full registration fee includes access to all scientific sessions, 3 nights accommodation in a bedroom with ensuite facilities and all meals. If you do not require accommodation at Keble College please select 'Registration Only', all meals are still included.

ACCOMMODATION

Please note, twin rooms are only available for speakers and partners. This is due to a limited number of twin rooms being available and the fact that Keble College does not allow guests under 18 years. A list of suitable Hotel and Bed and Breakfast accommodation for others bringing partners and families will be soon made available on the Serotonin Club web site.

 BURSARIES

Bursaries are available for the EPHAR 2008 Congress to enable younger scientists to attend. Please click here to apply online.

A limited number of bursaries will be available to postgraduate and post-doctoral fellows (who are within 3 years of obtaining their PhD) who are members of the Serotonin Club presenting at the meeting.  CPD ACCREDITATION

The Congress has been granted CPD accreditation and attendance at the Congress is worth 18 CPD credits. Certificates will be available from the Registration desk during the Congress or afterwards by emailing meetings@bps.ac.uk.


 PREVIEW OF PLENARY LECTURE

Prof Thomas Pogge will deliver the Astra Zeneca Plenary Lecture entitled 'Advanced Medicines: Must We Exclude the Global Poor?' at the EPHAR 2008 Congress. The lecture will take place on Thursday 17 July at 8.30am. An introductory sample audio file of this lecture can be downloaded here.

 UNIVERSITY PLACE

Based at busy Oxford Road, the ultramodern building is the largest lecture theatre in Manchester, with a 1100-seat auditorium which can be divided into a 600 and a 400-seat theatre to offer maximum flexibility.
