The British Pharmacological Society is looking forward to hosting The Federation of European Pharmacological Societies Congress in Manchester from 13 – 17 July 2008. The scientific programme will include plenary lectures, 20 symposia on the topics listed below, poster and oral communications and trade exhibition. There will also be a social programme including a Gala Dinner at Old Trafford Stadium, the home of Manchester United.

NEWS: Double Honour for EPHAR President In recognition of his distinguished contribution to Pharmacology, the EPHAR President, Professor Arthur Weston will be made an Honorary Member of the Finnish Pharmacological Society at a special Celebratory Symposium to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Society on June 27th 2008 in Tampere, Finland. Arthur Weston has also been honoured with the prestigious 2008 Gaddum Award by the British Pharmacological Society. The award, in memory of the pioneering British pharmacologist Sir John Gaddum, is for Professor Weston’s important contributions to the field of vascular pharmacology over the past 20 years. The Gaddum Medal will be presented at the Brighton Meeting of the Society in December 2008 at which he will deliver the Gaddum Lecture entitled Potassium channels and myo-endothelial crosstalk in blood vessels: a pharmacologist's view. |
